Just in: Thermaltake's Shock One headset and Meka G1 keyboard!

Take a peak at the latest Thermaltake gaming gear - a surround sound headset and a retro mechanical keyboard.

We just got in the latest of Thermaltake's new red and black gaming kit - a new mechanical keyboard and a rather striking new headset.

The Meka G1 is a kind of retro design. It's all black and red and angry looking, like any good gaming device, but it also harks back to the pre-Cambrian days of beige box computing in its curves and heavy mechanical keys.

The Shock One is 5.1 surround sound headset, and it continues the black and red theme. It's pretty comfy looking, too, and features an epically long cable - you can probably walk all the way to the fridge and back and still listen to 12 year olds argue about hacks in Black Ops.

Anyhoo, check out our out of the box gallery of pics, and keep an eye out for full reviews in an upcoming issue of Atomic.

Lancool, introduced three First Knight series mid-tower computer cases.
Lancool, maker of mid to high-end computer chassis for over twenty years, has launched three, new, mid-tower PC cases: the PC-K57, the PC-K59, and the PC-K63. Utilizing their affiliation with high-end chassis manufacturer Lian-Li, Lancool has designed all three of these PC cases with anti-vibration, tool-less installations of components, all-black SECC steel exteriors, and superior thermal performance capabilities, while providing exceptional aesthetic appeal.

PC-K63
The extremely sexy PC-K63's blacked-out interior is visible through a transparent side-panel window. Blue LEDs illuminate the PC-K63's two 140mm front panel fans as well as the 120mm rear panel fan. Two, top panel 140mm fans improve airflow inside the PC-K63 as well.

PC-K59 ; PC-K63
Users can mount ATX, Micro-ATX, and Mini-ITX motherboards in Lancool's new PC-K59 and PC-K63. Six 3.5” and four 2.5” HDDs (internal) can be mounted without tools, as well as graphics cards up to 285mm long. Both chassis also accept three 5.25” ODDs (external), mounted on the front panel with no tools needed. Air-filters in front of two 140mm front panel fans ensure users' equipment is protected from heat and dust. Both chassis also include one 120mm exhaust fan located at the top of the rear panel.

PC-K57
Tool-less installation of three 5.25” ODDs (external), three 3.5” HDDs (internal), and two 2.5” HDDs (internal), as well as PCI slots allowing VGA cards up to 415mm long make this an excellent PC case for gamers and enthusiasts alike. ATX, Micro-ATX, and Mini-ITX motherboards are all compatible in the PC-K57. One 140mm intake fan on the front panel (with air-filter for dust-protection) and one 120mm exhaust fan, located at the top of the rear panel, keep modified components from over-heating. For users who prefer, the PC-K57 has an additional 140mm front panel fan mount (fan excluded). With a unique front panel design, reminiscent of medieval armor, Lancool's PC-K57 looks every bit as good on the outside as it does on the inside.

Specialty Side Panel
On the side panel of the PC-K59 and PC-K57 there is venting directly over the the CPU. Behind the venting, on the inside of the chassis, is a protective cover with four pop-off sections, allowing for one or two, 140mm or 120mm, fans to be mounted. If fans are not desired, the protective pop-off panel can be kept in place to keep dust from entering the chassis.

All three chassis include eight tool-less PCI expansion slots, a cable management clasp running from the top of the case to bottom for increased organization, an air-filtered vent directly below the PSU (tool-less mount at the base of the case) to aid airflow, two rubber-lined holes on the back panel enabling LCS, one USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 port, and HD Audio ports. An e-SATA port is also included on the PC-K59 and PC-K63. The dimensions of the PC-K59 and the PC-K63 stand at 215mm x 530mm x 530mm (W, H, D) while the dimensions of the PC-K57 are 210mm x 472mm x 505mm (W, H, D).

Lancool PC-K63 a weird design but...

The Lancool PC-K63 is a weird design but the looks really can grow on you, initial impressions are wiped aside by its exceptional build quality and its innovations and features. The case was an absolute pleasure to work with and the installation of my hardware went ahead without a hitch. There are many quotes I could write here, like "beauty is only skin deep" and "don't judge a book by its cover" but at the end of the day it is you that has to look at the case your hardware is in, and looks really are important.

Performance is really good, the thermal design and high airflow intake keeps temperatures in check and sound levels down. Installation was a breeze, the PC-K63 is an absolute pleasure to work with.

Fake Microsoft Support One Care used in phone scareware campaign

I'v had friends and family call me asking about this strange call  form "Microsoft" this is a Scam that you need to worn people about! I know of 4 friends in Australia that have got this call in the last week.

form http://stopmalvertising.com

After reading the article Marketing Misusing ESET’s Name where www.supportonecare.com impersonates OneCare support by calling themselves Support One Care and also claims to be Microsoft-registered partner, I alerted my contact at Microsoft and since then some more in depth research has been performed.

This is a scareware scam with a new twist; let’s call it phone-scareware.

How does it work?

An organization based in India claiming affiliation with Microsoft (and displaying the claim on their website until yesterday underneath the Supported Products banner) is calling people to tell them their PC’s are infected. They also offer assistance with a wide variety of other products as seen in the Flash banner on their website.

  • 24x7 Remote IT Support
  • Adobe
  • Anti VirusFirewall
  • Browsers
  • Camera
  • Desktops & Workstations
  • Home network setup
  • iMAC
  • iPod / iTunes
  • Laptops / Handheld Devices
  • Mail setup & support
  • Printers / All-in-Ones
  • Routers
  • Scanner
  • Software / Applications
  • Windows
  • Wireless Networking
www.supportonecare.com also advertises several detailed subscriptions or specific plans to fix all the various issues you might encounter with your computer. This is probably a very successful scam, who never came across a small issue with his/her computer? Probably more than the half of people owning a PC have or had some trouble in the past.

The website www.supportonecare.com has been registered through Directi and the Whois details are hidden behind PrivacyProtect.org but upon visiting the site we are immediately redirected to support1care.com and they have been way less careful while registering that domain. Again the Registrar is Directi and the Registrant is listed as Zeal IT Solutions Pvt Ltd - administrative, technical and billing contact is Kishore Ghosh in West Bengal, India.

Video Conference with Gabe Newell

This is a must watch for anyone in sales or marketing its a unique insight into a great mind!

This is a a video conference with Gabe Newell in a Sports/Entertainment Marketing Class at Tippecanoe Valley High School.

After dropping out of Harvard University Newell spent thirteen years working for Microsoft Corporation, ultimately becoming a "Microsoft Millionaire". Newell has described himself as "producer on the first three releases of Windows".

Inspired by Michael Abrash, who left Microsoft to work on the computer game Quake at id Software, Newell and another Microsoft employee, Mike Harrington, left Microsoft to found Valve in 1996. He and Harrington used their money to fund Valve through the development of Half-Life.
During production on Half-Life 2, he spent several months focusing on the Steam project.
In 2007, Newell openly expressed his displeasure over developing his software for gaming consoles, particularly the PlayStation 3.

In regard to the system, Newell was once quoted as claiming that developing processes for the console in general was "a waste of everybody's time"[4] and "a disaster on many levels ... I'd say, even at this late date, they should just cancel it and do a do over. Just say, 'This was a horrible disaster and we're sorry and we're going to stop selling this and stop trying to convince people to develop for it'." Nevertheless, at E3 in 2010, Newell appeared on stage at Sony's keynote; while acknowledging his past outspoken comments on console development, he discussed the open nature of Sony's PlayStation 3 platform, and announced Portal 2 for the console, remarking that with Steamworks support it would be the best version for any console.Newell has also criticized the Xbox Live service, referring to it as "a train wreck".

In December 2010, Forbes named Newell as "A Name You Should Know" mainly for his work on Steam having partnerships with multiple major developers.

Tt eSPORTS Challenger Pro the New Force to be reckoned with in MMO gaming!

The choices for MMO gamers have been slim and over priced when it comes to Keboards, the Challenger Pro offers a perfect solution for all the macros you might need when playing MMO games or any game for that matter..

The Challenger Pro allows up to 40 macro combinations to be used, and being that there are 10 macro keys, it means you will have to use the macro profile change key at the top of the keyboard to switch between them.

On the main screen of the application, you'll be able to adjust all four profiles independently, and back up all of the settings to your computer if you want to. That would be useful if you wanted to use more than 40 macro keys, because it would allow you to switch between these saved profiles on the fly. Additionally, you could create a profile file for each game you play, and load the respective one before jumping into your game.

Thermaltake ISGC-400 CPU Cooler Review

Form http://www.overclockersclub.com

When it comes to CPU coolers, every degree counts - especially when overclocking comes into play. While it might seem like a small difference, that little bit can mean having a stable overclock or a fried processor, which no one likes. The ISGC series coolers have great cooling designs and do their jobs well. The ISGC-400, when compared to a stock AMD heatsink, blows it away - especially on the overclocked tests, where the stock heatsink did not cool the processor well enough to keep the system stable. When comparing the ISGC cooler to other aftermarket coolers, it came in around the same. However, when compared to its kin, the ISGC-300, it did fall behind just a bit; which, like I mentioned above, when dealing with temperatures every degree counts.

Happy New Year! The Year Of The Rabbit, 2011

Happy New Year from all of us at Mittoni.

According to the Chinese Zodiac, the Year of 2011 is the Year of the Golden Rabbit, which begins on February 3, 2011 and ends on January 22, 2012. The Rabbit is the fourth sign of the Chinese Zodiac, which consists of 12 animals signs. The Rabbit is a lucky sign. Rabbits are private individuals and a bit introverted. People born in the Year of the Rabbit are reasonably friendly individuals who enjoy the company of a group of good friends. They are good teachers, counselors and communicators, but also need their own space.

According to Chinese tradition, the Rabbit brings a year in which you can catch your breath and calm your nerves. It is a time for negotiation. Don't try to force issues, because if you do you will ultimately fail. To gain the greatest benefits from this time, focus on home, family, security, diplomacy, and your relationships with women and children. Make it a goal to create a safe, peaceful lifestyle, so you will be able to calmly deal with any problem that may arise.

Not many people know that the Rabbit is the symbol of the Moon, while the Peacock is the symbol of the Sun, and that together, these two animal signs signify the start of day and night, represent the Yin and Yang of life. It is said that anyone making supplications for wishes to be fulfilled are certain to get what they want... and in the Year of the Rabbit, the wish-granting aspect of the Sun and the Moon combined is multiplied. The Moon is YIN and this is the Yin of Heaven, signifying magic. Thus on each of the Full Moon nights of this year, go out into your garden to gaze into the Full Moon and visualize plenty of Moon dust and Moon glow flowing into you, filling your whole body with bright white light and granting you fearlessness, love and courage. This will not only strengthen your inner "Chi" energy, it will also bring wisdom into your life.

if your looking for something special for a loved one don't forget about the Bone Collection Grey Rabbit

The grey Rabbit 4Gb USB flash drive from Bone Collection is the perfect gift idea symbolising new life and fertility. Indeed, the commonly used phrase 'thank your mother for the rabbits' means literally to thank your mum for giving you the gift of life. Why not return that gift with this loveable, eye catching character, which is sure to be a cherished and not soon forgotten present!

Thermaltake's new Level10 GT case AtomicMPC

We've got an exclusive first look at Thermaltake's new Level10 series case, the GT - and it doesn't cost the Earth!

We kinda like Thermaltake's over the top Level10 PC case. We love it when we saw it at Computex in 2009, and we loved it even more when we got to review the giant lump of metal and plastic. But if there was one thing that didn't quite sit easy it was the price - at nearly a grand, it was a huge drop of cash.

Well, the new Level10 GT fixes that right up. At only $349 RRP, it's a much more affordable proposition.

Photos from CES 2011:

ETA for the GT is end of Feb 2011

Touring Thermaltake's New HQ

The lift doors open and I'm presented with at least two dozen people - all in red - shouting 'Welcome!' Given that the ground floor was virtually empty, and I'm the only person in the lift, it's a surprising introduction to say the least.

The staff can clearly see my bewilderment - like a rabbit stuck in the glare of headlights - and thankfully everyone is very nice about it as they quickly shoo me towards the registration desk, before the next lift arrives.

To my continual surprise, the line of people goes on and on, around the open gap between the floors of this Neihu tower block and finally around to Thermaltake's new office. I've always seen a fair number of people at Thermaltake's booths during tradeshows - especially at Computex - but I still didn't realise quite how many people work there. In contrast, Antec's Taiwan office, in the identical building next door, takes up less than a single floor; Thermaltake's office fills three.

Girls Who Play Video Games With Dad Are Happier

A new study says that playing video games with your daughter will make her happier and healthier. Your son will still become a homicidal maniac but one out of two ain't bad. I got 3 girls so WH00T!

Men may have to give up many of their hobbies when they become parents, but a new study is saying they shouldn't toss out their video games, at least, if they play with their children. Adolescent girls who play age-appropriate video games with their fathers are happier, healthier and have better family connections than those who don't.

After spending several weeks with the PC-V2120, I can confidently say this is the most silent PC enclosure I've ever owned and the accessibility, design, and additional features make it highly desirable for extreme users with a fat wallet.
