Microsoft Downplays 'Nightmare' Windows Kernel Flaw

A new exploit allows attackers to bypass UAC and execute code with administrative privileges. The good news, Microsoft says, is that it does not allow remote code execution on its own. So when patch day comes around don’t be lazy and keep ignoring it for 4 hours at a time for a week straight.

Attackers would have to combine the exploit with other malicious code that takes advantage of another vulnerability on the machine -- not necessarily one in Windows, but in any commonly-installed application, such as Adobe Reader, for example -- to hijack a PC and bypass UAC

World of Warcrafts World ended today!

That’s right the Cataclysm struck the MMO’s word today and millions of gamers are just now finding out that there PC might not be able to handle the game the way it once did!
I remember playing Wow on a 6 “ PC I can tell you now there is no way I can do that now!

WOW Cataclysm brings more than just new gameplay - it adds much better graphics features. It will rise minimum system requirements and recommended configurations considerably. New DX11 features will require more than just a basic computer with no discrete videocard. Gone are times when about any computer could run WOW to some extent, it becomes more of a system hogger than before. Check what's the best configuration today to run WOW Cataclysm.

There are many new options today when it comes to choosing WOW computer configuration.
Lets start from the lowest , or minimum recommended setup. It will most often consist of an AMD processor like Athlon II X2 or X3 clocked above 3.0GHz either stock or overclocked (you might want to check out our cooling range if you are going to overclock). You will need at least 2GB RAM but 4GB of Mushkin DDR3 is highly advisable, difference is huge. Videocard - could be Nvidia GT 220, better with DDR3 RAM, or GT 240 GDDR5 or GT 430 which is a little slower but newer and has some really nice features. Packed in a case with good cooling with reliable PSU at least 485W - should be reliable brand. Hard drive space, DVD speed do not matter much. Motherboard - if you can choose - get 785G chipset, it's cheap and reliable, fast enough too.
If you want to enjoy WOW Cataclysm in more than just medium settings you will need more firepower under the hood. We recommend at least AMD Phenom II X4 or Intel Core i5 Quad processors. Combined respectively with AMD 880g/870/890 series motherboards or P55 for Intel. 4GB RAM is still enough, I'm running 8GB and can tell you it helps a lot in crowed city's in the game and in 25 man raids, it's not required for most games but at the cost of ram today its a nice upgrade!. Video card - here you have many options. Starting from Nvidia GTS 250 and 450 and ATI Radeon 5670, 5750, 5770 cards are all great for WOW on High settings. Older 9800GT might be still ok but you know you want more!

recommended specs:

Windows XP 32bit (SP3), Windows XP 64bit (SP2), Windows Vista 32bit (SP1), Windows Vista 64bit (SP1) Windows 7:
Dual-core processor, such as the Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 X2
2 GB RAM (2 GB for Vista users)
3D graphics processor with Vertex and Pixel Shader capability with 256 MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600 or ATI Radeon™
2600 or better DirectX-compatible sound card or motherboard sound capability
Broadband Internet connection
Multi-button mouse with scroll wheel recommended

Not too hard core but I can tell you now lots of gamers will be scrambling for any upgrade the can get over the coming weeks! And Multi-button mouse with scroll wheel? You might want to check out our full range of gaming mice! My pick is the G500 and the G700 if you want macro’s to boot!

Cataclysm is set for release on December 7th, you can check out the amazing intro movie here.

Noctua presents NH-C14 premium cooler

Vienna, November 23rd 2010 - Noctua today officially introduced its new NH-C14 CPU cooler. Sporting an exquisite, uniquely flexible 140mm dual fan setup of two Noctua NF-P14, the NH-C14 is a highly customisable, premium-class top-flow solution that further boosts the renowned quiet cooling performance of the company's much acclaimed NH-C12 series.

"Our NH-C12 coolers are renowned to rank among the most capable top-flow cooling solutions on the market, so we're truly proud to offer a further substantial improvement in quiet cooling performance with the new NH-C14", says Mag. Roland Mossig, Noctua CEO. "This model really closes the gap to good tower coolers while being much lower in height and ensuring better component cooling."

The NH-C14's six heatpipe c-type design with two NF-P14 FLX 140mm fans brings top-flow cooling performance to a new level while maintaining a much lower profile than today's tower-style coolers and providing excellent airflow over RAM modules and near-socket mainboard components.

The two supplied NF-P14 premium fans can be installed on top and underneath the fin-stack to configure the cooler for maximum performance in dual fan mode and either lower profile or maximum component clearance in single fan modes. Run with a single NF-P14 fan underneath the fin-stack and with the top fan removed, the NH-C14 measures only 105mm in height, which makes it ideal for use in smaller enclosures and HTPC applications. Run with a single fan on top, the NH-C14 provides a full 65mm of clearance for chipset coolers or RAM modules with high heat-spreaders.

Topped off with a tube of Noctua's award-winning NT-H1 thermal compound, Low-Noise and Ultra-Low-Noise Adaptors (U.L.N.A.) as well as the professional SecuFirm2™ multi-socket mounting system (LGA1366, LGA1156, LGA1155, LGA775, AM2, AM2+ and AM3), the NH-C14 forms a complete quality package for the highest demands.

Remembrance Day

We Remember.

Remembrance Day (also known as Poppy DayArmistice Day or Veterans Day) is amemorial day observed in Commonwealth countries to remember the sacrifices of members of the armed forces and civilians in times of war, specifically since the First World War. This day, or alternative dates, are also recognised as special days for war remembrances in many non-Commonwealth countries.
Remembrance Day is observed on 11 November to recall the official end of World War I on that date in 1918, as the major hostilities of World War I were formally ended "at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month" of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice. (Note that "at the 11th hour", refers to the passing of the 11th hour, or 11:00 am.)
The day was specifically dedicated by King George V, on 7 November 1919, to the observance of members of the armed forces who were killed during World War I. This was possibly done upon the suggestion of Edward George Honey to Wellesley Tudor Pole, who established two ceremonial periods of remembrance based on events in 1917.[1]
The red poppy has become a familiar emblem of Remembrance Day due to the poem In Flanders Fields. These poppies bloomed across some of the worst battlefields of Flanders in World War I, their brilliant red colour an appropriate symbol for the blood spilt in the war.

Logitech G19 why you want it?

Logitech's G19 gaming keyboard—which borders on ludicrous with its embedded Linux mini-computer and full-blown LCD monitor—is the best one they've made yet, even if it doesn't quite reach its full mind-blowing potential.

Holy Crap, There's a Monitor in My Keyboard
The 320x240 LCD display that hovers over the keyboard is really the G19's raison d'tre. After incarnations of its G15 keyboard with a monochrome display for game stats and system info, it was really the only place left to go, and for the most part, it's a comfy place with silk sheets and free Coke in the minibar. I mean, you can watch YouTube or movies while you frag.

Check out Logitech's Video and find out what is so unreal about this keyboard.

Noctua NH-D14 Review on hardwarebistro

"Noctua NH-D14 is definitely one of the highest performance air CPU coolers in the market at least for next couple of years. If you are an insane/enthusiast user and like to challenge then you should really try out Noctua NH-D14; a nicely designed and well-built CPU cooler. With the dual radiators and triple-fan-setup capabilities, Noctua NH-D14 stands out from the rests and it is not easy to design such high performance CPU cooler and taking into consideration of ease-of-installation, universal compatibility as well as cost control. The initial launch price of Noctua NH-D14 is around 89USD but now you can get it at 80USD or probably less than that. Again please ensure your system is fully compatible with Noctua NH-D14 before getting this monster or else you are just making trouble for yourself."

Prolimatech Super Mega Review on Proclockers

From :http://www.proclockers.com

"If you are in the market for a new cooler to replace one that is not living up to the job at hand, then the Prolimatech Super Mega is a nice route to take if you want great performance from an air cooler. Prolimatech continues to offer a very strong competitor to market.

In the testing we paired the Super Mega up against the older Megahalems and the numbers came out to be very close. If you already own an original Megahalems there simply is no reason to upgrade to the Super. However, if you are upgrading from an OEM or entry level cooler then there is no reason not to consider the Super Mega as your next cooler." read on

In a nut shell the Lian Li Tyr PC-X2000F is an incredibly impressive looking computer case that is loaded with quality features. It is easy to work with, has loads of room to expand, and will not have any problems supporting future hardware. These attributes really do make the Tyr PC-X2000F the ideal computer case as we see no real reason to upgrade to anything else in the foreseeable future.
