"The ends of the speaker are composed of a tough rubber material for grip on inclined surfaces. This material also provides impact resistance. Of course, I dropped the speaker a few times onto the rocky beach and had no issues. I kept my iPod in my pocket while playing music through the speaker because it was misty and I didn't want my iPod getting wet. The speaker was fine in these conditions."
